Stating the obvious

Turns out what is obvious in Ukraine is not obvious for people outside. So let’s spell it out.

Russia is trying to conquer Ukraine – with a brutal force, against the will of overwhelming majority of Ukrainians. Like in any war, there are collaborators, but they’re very few and they collaborate out of fear that Ukraine will loose and they will suffer repressions.

Russias demands on negotiations are to surrender. Demilitarization means “give up your army so that it would be easy for us to conquer you”. Denazification is part of russian propaganda of “nazis in Ukraine”, in reality means a destruction of Ukrainian culture and language, russification of the country, and murder of people who oppose kremlin regime. And “recognition” of russian conquest in Crimea and “in progress” conquest in Donetsk and Luhansk regions – means “give up your territories so that we could use those for launching conquest into the rest of Ukraine”. Thus russia doesn’t negotiate – they just try to force surrender, demands are “we kill you now vs we kill you later”.

Russia is killing civilians en masse for several weeks now. Multiple launch rocket systems (a weapon that is the opposite of precise – it covers wide areas in hectares with complete destruction) fire upon Ukrainian cities, bombs are dropped from airplanes onto cities and towns onto hospitals, schools, power plants, water systems etc. Even tanks fire at residential buildings.

Russia encircles Ukrainian cities and destroys them, leaving no possibility for civilians to leave. So called “green corridors” are bombed. Civilians that try to leave on their own get shot, civilian cars get shot by tanks and heavy machine guns.

Russian soldiers loot conquered cities, kill civilians and rape.

All this is done to make Ukrainian government surrender, and let russia install their puppet government – but this will not stop the killing. This will be only the beginning of “cleansing” campaign all over the country, where people who will not bow to kremlin completely will be killed or imprisoned.

Western countries are helping Ukraine, but not too much. They provide some simpler weapons and armament (like helmets), but refuse to even sell (for full price) any even mildly sophisticated weapons, such as anti-air systems.

Western people debate how much russian people will theoreticaly suffer from sanctions – forgetting how much Ukrainian people are already suffering, being shelled, bombed, killed and raped!

Western people think that russia just wants to conquer Ukraine and that’s it. Knowing nothing about what is said by russian leaders, MPs and deputes – who make it no secret that NATO is their enemy, and destruction of it is the goal. They are overt that Europe is next. While western people think that russia will stop after Ukraine. Like they thought it will stop after Crimea. Like they thought it will stop after Georgia. Like they thought it will stop after Chechnya. Like they thought it will stop after Transnistria…
